Watch the parade or be part of it.
The parade begins the morning of the 4th at 10am sharp. It starts at the corner of Lake Charles North and Green River Trail, proceeding south to Saint Lawrence Road, the going east to Lake Louise Road. From there it heads north to Sugar Lake Road, then east to Willow Ridge Road, then south ending at Willow Ridge Road. There will be water available at Lake Louise Road and Granite Shoals Ave.
If you want to be in the parade, show up at Green River Trail and Lake Charles North at 9:30am. You may walk, bike or ride. Prizes will be awarded for 3 categories, Most Patriotic, Most Creative and Most Fun (the LOL award.) Each category will have an adult winner and a young adult/child winner. Adult winners will receive a Lone Star folding Camp Chair. Young winners will receive a movie ticket gift card. All prizes are worth $20 each and have been donated to the event.
Once the parade arrives at Smith Wilemon Park, there will be ice cream, soft drinks and water provided by the Neighborhood Association. Bring chairs and/or blankets for seating. Music will be provided by local musicians. Free face painting and temporary tattoos will be available.
We will also have a basket auction to raise funds for an irrigation system for the Park’s new garden so bring some cash and take home some treasure.
